Television is Educational

There is a lot of debate these days about television and children.

Television is not the problem, bad programming is.

Some educational programmes are very good and excellent at motivating children to learn, but be selective. Watching the Teletubbies is not likely to advance a child’s interest in reading. Sesame Street is a great educational programme and is best watched with a parent so the nuances of different cultures can be explained. For example the letter Z is pronounced Zee in the USA, so a parent's input here is valuable.
